Baby's first year

People say that their baby changes by the day. I believe it! This is why it is so important to capture these fleeting moments of a baby’s first year. There is no getting that time back; if you blink, you might miss it. I offer five session opportunities for you to choose from to capture your baby’s moments.

Maternity session:
A maternity session is a perfect way to remember how you felt at the peak of your pregnancy. Usually shot at seven months, whether it’s your first or fourth pregnancy, you are a beautiful, glowing, mother-to-be. This session is a fabulous way to show your child how much you anticipated their arrival by taking the time to enjoy and show off your expectant belly.

Newborn session:
Life with a newborn can be tough, as both parents and baby are getting used to their new lives. Your home is probably a mess, you aren’t sleeping much and all you want to do is lie on the couch all day. I know, I’ve been there. This is why I shoot newborn sessions in your home. You don’t have to get ready to go anywhere, I come to you and I bring everything. It’s easiest for you since you are in your own environment. You just leave everything up to me.

The best time to photograph a newborn is within ten days of birth. The consultation for newborn shoots should be done in your home approximately one month before your due date. This way I’m ready when you deliver your bundle of joy. You should expect the shoot to last between two and three hours. This is the longest of the shoots because newborns need breaks and may need to be fed during our session.

Three to Four Months Old:
Three to four months old is the perfect time to capture your baby’s budding personality. Full of gummy smiles and coos, your baby will love to play peek-a-boo with my camera. These sessions are a lot of fun for me as well as the baby; I don’t even mind the drool! This session is done either in your home or at a park.

Six to Eight Months Old:
This session is a ton of fun because now baby is sitting up on his or her own. They laugh at Mommy and Daddy and can use their arms and expressions to convey their emotions. This is a great time to introduce props, toys or really fun clothing that compliments the baby’s personality. This session is done either in your home or at a park.

One Year Old:
The first year of your child’s life flies by so quickly and they grow so much in those twelve months. This shoot is all about the culmination of their skills and personality. These babies turned toddlers are now showing off those grins and giggles that have been burned into your heart. A birthday cake can be used for fun, or we can use other props or toys that your child loves to play with. This session is usually done outdoors.
